What is Taisho Ward like?
Let me describe Taisho Ward, albeit briefly.
Taisho Ward is located in the western part of Osaka City, facing Osaka Bay.
According to the public relations magazine of Taisho Ward (Hello Taisho April issue), the population was 59,293 as of March 1, 2024,
It is the least populated ward in the city.
Surrounded on all sides by rivers, it is truly an island when seen from above.
It is a place like an “island”. So it is full of attractions not found anywhere else.
Because many people with Okinawan roots and their descendants live in the area,
There are also many Okinawan restaurants, izakaya bars, and specialty stores in the district.
This is the Okinawan restaurant “Ichari-Bari”.
It also has a product store.
It is one of the most famous Okinawan restaurants in Taisho Ward, and sometimes a lot of people wait in line to enter the restaurant.
You will see it a short distance to the right as you exit Hotel Sobial Osaka Dome-mae.
There are other attractions in addition to Okinawa-related activities.
Here are a few examples.

Reasons for recommending Hotel Sovial Osaka Dome-mae
Here I explain why I recommend you Hotel Sobial Osaka Dome-mae.
As I mentioned in the previous section, Close to the station!
Only 1 minute walk.Don’t worry about getting lost.
As the hotel name is Hotel Sobial Osaka Dome-mae,
it is very close to Kyocera Dome Osaka.
You can reach the stadium within a 10-minute walk.
I recommend this hotel to those who come from far away to watch professional baseball games or concerts.
Also Taisho Ward is located relatively close to major tourist attractions in Osaka City.
Dotonbori, Shinsekai, Tsutenkaku Tower, Abeno Harukas, Osaka Castle Park, Umeda Sky Building, Tempozan, Universal Studios Japan, etc.
You can reach these locations directly from Taisho Station on the JR Osaka Loop Line or Osaka Metro Nagahori Tsurumi-ryokuchi Line,
or you can go there with only one transfer on the way.
Around Taisho Station, I often see people who seem to have been to Universal Studios Japan.
Some of them stay overnight at Hotel Sovial Osaka Dome-mae.
It also takes about 25 minutes from Shin-Osaka Station to Taisho.
Moreover, it is possible to go directly to Taisho from Kansai International Airport by taking the JR Kanku Kaisoku Rapid train.
Therefore, since Hotel Sobial Osaka Dome-mae opened,
we can see many foreign tourists here.
As mentioned in the previous two paragraphs,
you will have the opportunity to visit fascinating places in Taisho Ward.
If you stay at other accommodations in other areas in Osaka City, it may be moderately difficult.
This is a great opportunity only available to those who stay at Hotel Sobial Osaka Dome-mae.
If you have time to spare, I highly recommend that you explore Taisho Ward.
These are the reasons why I recommend this hotel.
I hope you will get at least a little interested in Taisho by learning why I recommend this hotel.
Now let’s actually stay there.
Stay at Hotel Sovial Osaka Dome-mae!
Now let me tell you about the actual stay on March 21.
We used the 2-day/1-night plan that includes breakfast.
I applied from a travel reservation web site “Rakuten Travel”.
The price was 7,200 yen, all settled with Rakuten points.
It was practically like staying for free.
There was no special event at Kyocera Dome Osaka on the day I stayed.
The front desk was not so crowded because it was a weekday.
After completing the check-in formalities, I received my key card and headed to my room.
In this hotel, you cannot get on the elevator without a card key.
It’s also very secure.
Get off the elevator and go to your room.
Turn right here.
I stayed in room 519.
The room looks like this.
To my surprise, I was assigned a twin room.
It makes me happy.
It was spacious and comfortable.
Kyocera Dome Osaka can be seen from the room.
Unfortunately, it was cloudy outside.
Until dinner, I spent time writing and editing my blog
and reading English newspapers, which are part of my daily routine.
The quiet and comfortable location allowed me to concentrate on my work.
The toilets and shower rooms are clean.
However, I never used the shower room during my stay.
Because ・・・・
This is because public bathrooms are provided.
It was more spacious and comfortable than I expected.
An open-air bath is also available.
I was there for 40 minutes and no one came to the public bathroom.
It was practically a private party.
I visited the bathroom around 6:30pm.
I made a good decision to visit it at dinner time.
Had I visited it after 8pm, it would have been too crowded to relax.
After taking a bath, I went through a few more routines.
It was 9:00 p.m. and I was getting hungry, so I decided to go out for dinner.
There is a restaurant in the hotel, but I did not use it and went to a nearby restaurant.
Please stay tuned for a separate article on that occasion at a later date!
After dinner, I returned to the hotel.
After that, I spent some time in my room watching YouTube, reading books, and relaxing.
Then I went to bed at 1 am.
I woke up a little after 8:00 a.m.
I was able to sleep well.
Unlike yesterday, the weather was clear.
I feel great.
We went to the attached restaurant and had breakfast.
A variety of dishes, both Japanese and Western, were prepared in buffet style.
The restaurant is open from 6:30 to 10:00.
*But you must enter the restaurant by 9:30 a.m.
Breakfast is important.
I ate a lot.
The staff told me that the restaurant might be crowded on this day due to the use of the restaurant by a group of guests.
However, it was empty because I visited it before 9:00 a.m.
The group guests probably had breakfast earlier.
After cleaning up the room a bit, it’s time to check out.
It was a comfortable stay.
Thank you very much.
I will be back again.
I really wanted to take a lot of pictures and post them,
but I kept photography to a minimum out of consideration for other customers.
Naturally, taking pictures inside public bathhouses is strictly prohibited.
In the first place, the use of cell phones in public bathrooms is not allowed.
If you would like to know what it looks like inside, please stay in person or see the link below.
Please refer to this page for a view of the public bathhouse.
Please refer to this page for a view of each room.

As I mentioned in the previous section,
as for the restaurant I stopped at during our stay in the hotel and the izakaya bar I originally planned to stop at,

Right in front of the wine bar and soba noodle shop seen in the center of the photo,
you can see the entrance and exit of Hotel Sobial Osaka Dome-mae.
You can read more about the surrounding area in my previous postings.
Read also this article if you like.
I took the photos from a pedestrian bridge a short distance from the station.
Also, from the intersection in the photo above, go a bit southwest,
and you can visit an old-fashioned shopping street like this one.
