My recommendation! Three restaurants in Osaka City that serve delicious fried chicken 【not specialty restaurants】.

fried (e.g. potatoes, chicken)

First, may I ask you one question?
Do you like fried chicken?

I hiikun love it to death.
I can’t live without it.

If I rank the three major meats, beef, pork, and chicken, in order of my favorite, this is what I get.

1st Chicken

2nd Beef

3rd Pork

I don’t like beef or pork, though, depending on the part,
There is no particular part of the chicken that I dislike.
I can eat any part of chicken.

As such a chicken lover, I, hiikun, would like to introduce to you this time.

Three restaurants in Osaka City that serve delicious fried chicken

It is not a specialty restaurant as the title suggests,
I have narrowed it down to three places that serve delicious fried chicken.
Moreover, I add the following conditions.

・Reasonably priced for the quantity
・Easy to get to
・A rather famous restaurant.

This article is intended for the following people.

・Those who are looking for a store that meets the above three conditions.
・Fried chicken fans who come to Osaka on a trip.

I hope this article will help you find a restaurant that serves delicious fried chicken.
I will show you restaurants that specialize in meals other than fried chicken.
Therefore, you can taste the restaurant’s main products along with the fried food.
It is truly killing two birds with one stone.

These three fried chicken cannot be tasted outside of the Kansai region.
I hope you will find this article useful in your search for restaurants when you travel to Osaka.

I hope you will enjoy reading this article.

Hints regarding the three stores to be introduced

Here I share with you hints for the three stores I will introduce.

・The first is a long-established Western-style restaurant whose main product is omelette rice.

・The second is a long-established beer hall that serves a variety of Japanese and Western cuisine.

・The third is a ramen restaurant in my hometown, which also focuses on a la carte dishes.

Can you guess what it is?

All stores are located in Osaka City.

・You can guess what the first restaurant is if you have read un article
that I posted before.

・Regarding the second place, I am sure some of you will name this restaurant
if you get asked “What is the oldest beer hall in Osaka?”.

・Regarding the third, I am sure some of you will name this ramen restaurant
if you get asked “What is a ramen restaurant in Taisho Ward, Osaka City, famous for fried chicken?”.

I will give you 10 seconds.
Let’s think about it.

Let’s take a look in order.

Recommended restaurant No.1

The first is Hokkyokusei, a long-established Western-style restaurant famous for its omelette rice.

As I also featured in the the previously posted article,
【My recommendation for sightseeing in Osaka】Let’s take a stroll in the business district “Kitahama” and visit retro architectural structures!
it is the Kitahama branch of Hokkyokusei.

In addition to the main product, omelette rice,
a la carte dishes such as hamburger steaks and fried shrimps are available.

I had been curious about their fried chicken for a long time. I tried it for the first time the other day.
It was so delicious and I liked it so much that I decided to take it up.

How to get there No.1

First, I will tell you how to get to the Kitahama branch of Hokkyokusei.

The nearest exit is Exit 6 of Kitahama Station on the Osaka Metro Sakaisuji Line.
Exit the station and go to the right (south side)…

you will see the pharmacy “Hanshin Drug”.
Turn right at that corner.

You already get there.
Very easy.

How to get there No. 2

Although the Osaka Metro Sakaisuji Line runs through the center of Osaka City,
it doesn’t pass through major stations such as Umeda, Shin-Osaka, Shinsaibashi, Namba, and Tennoji.

Therefore, some readers may find it difficult to go to Kitahama Station.
So I will tell you another way to get there.

Take the Osaka Metro Midosuji Line from Shin-Osaka, Umeda, Namba, Tennoji, etc.
Please get off at Yodoyabashi Station.

When taking a train from the Umeda direction, please get on the first car.
When taking a train from the Namba direction, please take the last car.

Yodoyabashi Station Exit 11 is the closest.

When you exit the station, take a left.
Follow the yellow arrows and keep going straight.

And then…

it takes about 10 minutes from the station to reach the Kitahama branch of Hokkyokusei.

Recommended Fried Chicken No. 1

This is Hokkyokusei’s fried chicken.
They use the thigh.
It is prepared with garlic, ginger and so on.
Therefore, you can enjoy having the delicious fried chicken
without any sesonings such as salt, sauce and mayonnaise.

The outside is crispy and the inside is juicy.

I also had an omelette and hamburger set together,
The star of the day is the fried chicken.

The total cost was ¥2,300-.
The taste was perfect.
The price and quantity were just right.

If you feel that omelette rice is a little unsatisfying,
why not order this fried chicken?

It will make your dinner even more enjoyable.

Now let’s move on to the second restaurant.

Recommended restaurant No. 2

The next one I introduce to you is ・・・

Fried chicken from the long-established beer hall “New Munich”,
which was founded in 1958 (Showa 33) on Ohatsu Tenjin Street in Sonezaki, Osaka

We have several stores in Osaka and Kobe, including one in Sonezaki, Osaka.
This time, I had the famous fried chicken at the New Munich South Embassy (Minami Taishikan) in Namba.

How to get there No.1

Nankai Namba Station and the department store Takashimaya-Osaka.
It is one of the iconic buildings of Namba.
Here is how to get to the “New Munich South Embassy (Minami Taishikan) “.

Turning to the left, you can see two entrances to the shopping district.
The yellow arrow is the Ebisubashi Suji shopping street.
If you go this way…

you will reach Dotonbori.

Please proceed to Namba Nankai Street indicated by the red arrow.

After about 100 meters…

you will see a commercial building with several restaurants on the right.
The yellow arrow indicates the sign board of “New Munich South Embassy (Minami Taishikan) “.

There are also signs near the entrance so you don’t need to worry about getting lost.

Let’s proceed inside.

Go up to the second floor and you will arrive.

A variety of Japanese and Western dishes are served.
Of these, its fried chicken is the most popular.

How to get there No. 2

If you are taking the subway, please follow the directions below.

Get off at Namba Station of Osaka Metro and proceed to Exit E3 of NAMBA NANNAN.
When you get out of there…

you will see the entrance to the Ebisubashi Suji Shopping Arcade.
From there, take a right and you will arrive at Namba Nankai Street.
After that, proceed in the same way as in “How to get there No.1”.

Now let’s have their famous fried chicken.

Recommended Fried Chicken No. 2

This is New Munich’s famous fried chicken (¥1,200-).
It is so famous that many people have taken it to SNS.

One portion have seven pieces.
It seems small in the picture,
It was actually surprisingly large and the quantity was just right.

The red arrow also points to the salt for the fried chichen.
You can eat the chicken with it, but it tastes good enough without it.

It is served with the bones attached.
Please fully enjoy having the fride chicken.

According to the information on the official website, they are marinated in a “special sauce” before frying.
However, there is no mention of what the special sauce is made of.

I don’t particularly care what the sauce is made of because it is delicious.

We had this lager beer, Kobe Embassy Beer (¥750-), along with fried chicken.

The amber appearance is truly beautiful.
I chose this beer because of its beautiful appearance.

You can enjoy the aroma and richness of barley.
It goes perfect with the fried chicken.

A clock is drawn on the side where the yellow arrow points.
The hand points to 5:46.

Do you know what this means?

Speaking of what happened at 5:46 in Kobe…

The Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake occurred about 30 years ago in 1995 (Heisei 7).

It is said to be a prayer for the “New Munich Kobe Embassy” and the reconstruction of the affected areas
seriously dameged by the earthquake.

I fully enjoyed the food and the beer
with gratitude to the craftsmen who overcame the disaster to create such wonderful beer.

Now let’s come to the third and final restaurant.

You can order New Munich’s fried chicken on line.
Please refer to this page for details.

Recommended restaurant No.3

The last restaurant I visited was “Ramen Kohsan”.

This is a famous ramen restaurant in Taisho Ward, Osaka City, the hometown of me hiikun.

I love their ramen.
But, what I would like to introduce yot this time is not ramen but fried chicken.

Thier fried chicken at this restaurant is just huge!

One portion has five pieces of the huge fried chicken.
I call it “huge fried chicken”.
So, youTubers and social networking influencers who deal mainly with food picked up the fride chichen of “Ramen Kohsan”.

We would like to introduce to you such a big and tasty fried food.

How to get there

Please take one of the buses of Osaka City Bus
bound for “Tsurumachi 4-chome”, “Nishifunamachi”, and “Subway Suminoe Koen”. from Taisho Station on JR Osaka Loop Line and Osaka Metro Nagahori Tsurumi-ryokuchi Line.
Please get off at the “Chishima” stop.
It takes less than 10 minutes to get there unless you are caught in a heavy traffic jam.

The bus bound for “Tsurumachi 4-chome” at the “Taishobashi” No. 2 stop.
Of the buses with the three destinations listed above, the number of buses bound for “Tsurumachi 4-chome” is by far the most common.
So you can be sure to get on this one.

You can also take the bus bound for “Nishifunamachi” or “Subway Suminoe Koen” that comes to the stop marked with a yellow circle.
However, please do not get on express buses, IKEA buses
and the buses that arrive at or depart from the stops marked with a red cross.

Arrived at the “Chishima” stop.
Follow the arrow to the intersection.

The arrow indicates “Ramen Kohsan”.

It is easy to see in this way.

Well, here we are.

Now let’s actually try it.

Recommended Fried Chicken No. 3

Of course, I eat the ramen at the restaurant.
However, if you buy only fried food, take it home and eat it.

On this day, as usual, I took it home and had it at home.

I haven’t even opened it yet,
the savory smell of fried chicken is already wafting through the room.

As you can see, the fried chicken is so big that it does not fit in the transparent box.
I am not exaggerating it.
It actually looks like this.

Then,

finally, let me open the box.

Here it is: !!!!!!!!!!
How long have I waited for this moment!
I can’t stop drooling.

Then, let’s have it right away. Itadakimasu!

I really wanted to have it with beer,
I had jasmine tea because I had to work the next day.
I also prepared a vegetable salad for refreshing my mouth.

Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside.
As with the two fried foods mentioned earlier,
this fried chicken here is also well-prepared.
You can eat it as it is.

Salt and pepper in moderation.
I like that the amount of salt and pepper is kept to a minimum so as not to ruin the flavor of the chicken.

There were so many big fried chicken, and now there’s only one left…
With a sense of loneliness and contentment
I enjoyed the remaining one.

Thank you for the meal. Gochisousamadesita!

summary

I have introduced three fried foods that I, hiikun, recommend.
How were they?

I have shown you the following three stores here.

・Hokkyokusei, Kitahama restaurant.
・New Munich South Embassy (Minami Taishikan) in Namba.
・Ramen Kohsan in Taisho.

The fried chicken of the restaurants mentioned in this article have the common feature.
They taste good enough as it is. You don’t have to add seasonings.
This is probably because they are well prepared.

Everyone has their own preferences.
Of course, you can eat the chicken with salt, soy sauce, mayonnaise, or other condiments.
However, if possible, I suggest you eat the chicken without condiments.
This is because I would like you to fully taste the flavor of the meat and batter.

All of the stores are located in relatively easy-to-reach areas.
Please visit these three restaurants.
I hope you fully enjoy these fried chicken with all five senses.

I feel happy
if those who visit Osaka on vacation enjoy them as a memory of trip.

Thank you very much for reading to the end.

See you in the next article.
